The Hottest Wedding Venue Styling Tips for 2012 by Simply Kayo
Simply Kayo is a boutique special events company, that specialise in designing and
coordinating quality, creative celebrations for the individual that identifies with the Western culture but is also very proud of their ethnic heritage.
Today Fikayo, from Simply Kayo lets our brides and grooms in on what are the hottest trends for venue styling for 2012 weddings!
Crystals, diamantes, and bling
Simply Kayo brides have fallen in love with bling; some brides wish to add it everywhere, whereas others just want to incorporate a little bit of bling into their big day!
Chiavari Chairs
Everyone seems to have gone mad for Chiavari chairs! If you don’t like the traditional ‘chair cover’ look, then use Chiavari chairs to create a simply elegant look for your wedding venue. They come in a variety of colours including gold and silver for that touch of class.
Alternative Sashes
To infuse a bit of your culture into your wedding venue, why not move away from the traditional organza or satin chair sashes and use some material that’s popular in your culture e.g Kente cloth. Have a look at these… (photo by Atunbi Photography)
Hanging décor
Be it flowers, lanterns or paper items; the trend of things hanging from the ceiling really seems to be popular amongst brides. It creates a fuller look in your venue without really doing too much.
Coloured glasses
To mix up your colour scheme and get some variation on your guest tables, try using coloured glasses as opposed to clear ones. It really adds another dimension of colour.
Cultural Infusion
Show off your culture and traditional materials in your décor by improvising; a new take on bows, draping and tablecloths. (Photo by Atunbi Photography)
Flowers
Flowers never go out of fashion. Add as few or as many as you like to create a stunning venue.
Your Thing
Everyone has their thing; that one thing that they must add regardless of the cost and what anyone else thinks. For Simply Kayo clients recently, these have included:
- White LED dance floor
- White piano
- Vintage design backdrop with couple’s initials on it
- Pictures of the couple and their initials everywhere
- Chef cooking and cocktail maker in the reception venue
