About

WHO ARE WE?

We are Tasha, Louisa and Cassandra and together, we make up the editors of the Bride of Colour Blog.

We are professionals in the wedding industry.

Tasha is a professional wedding and novelty cake maker in South London and running “N.O. Cakes R Better” successfully for many years, which provides exactly what it says on the tin – bespoke, original novelty or occasion cakes delivered with the highest quality service and style.

Louisa is a London based wedding photographer who runs Urban Bridesmaid Photography – a new concept in contemporary wedding and portrait  photography dedicated to providing photographs with personality!

Cassandra is also a photographer in South London who has been taking photographs for over five years but now it has become an addictive passion! She enjoys capturing that special moment that can be easily missed  and has so much fun whenever she is behind the camera!

WHAT IS THE BRIDE OF COLOUR BLOG ALL ABOUT?

We hope to celebrate the cultural diversity of weddings, mostly UK based and worldwide.  One of the things that brides have said to us (and on internet forums) that when planning their weddings they struggled to find wedding directories for black,  BME, African, Nigerian, Afro Caribbean, Asian and Chinese weddings. There is a limited selection of directories dotted about, but back in 2010 when this blog started, definitely no UK based wedding blogs….. so we started one!

We wanted to create a living, breathing, fresh and organic blog featuring some of the best wedding photographs from real weddings, advice from  suppliers/vendors and some cool ideas! We hope that you will join us on our journey and help to make the Bride of Colour blog a success. We couldn’t do it without you!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I’ve been searching for inspiration for my wedding day and until I came across this I hadn’t had any luck. whenever you look thrugh bridal magazines or go to wedding fayers there is never anything for black brides, let alone black brides with natural hair (dreds)! I will enjoy searching your blog for ideas and inspiration
